(Lunatic) + (Murder) = (Entertainment for women)..

…has long been a formula for Lifetime movie success (from A Woman Scorned review). Once in a while a blog comes along that sees a hole in the literature and fills it. Mother May I Sleep with Lifetime is one such blog (title refers to this classic film starring Tori Spelling). I couldn’t have come up with a better blog title myself.

Lifetime Logo

The blog has been around since about 2010 and looks to be updated 1.5 times per month. Not bad considering each review is pretty thoroughly researched and provides cross-references to the entire Lifetime oeuvre (not an easy feat). Also of note, the author’s use of themes/tagging is very helpful: why don’t they call the cops?outta control teensbland dad, and affairs (of the heart). There’s something for everybody.

The writer’s sprawling, 8,000-page “Exegesis” harks back to the future with the second-century Christian Gnostics.

He was one of the most influential science fiction writers of the 20th century, but few people consider him a thinker. That would be a mistake.

There ARE goblins in Marioworld, but they are called GOBBLINS. An enemy in Yoshi’s Island (DS), they are described as yellow smiley face balls. I included a pic of goblins from Troll 2 for cuteness comparison.

Behold! The emoglobin!

Note: The goblin depicted above is an emo-g-o-b-l-i-n. For more on emo-globins keep reading.

Nilblog has recently received a complaint about a previous post that suggested that Mario might be, or come into contact with, goblins. The complainnerd stated that this falsehood was an affront to Nintendo players worldwide. SO sorry. Somehow nilblogger confused goblins with globins (specifically emoglobins) – the block-like creatures that appear in Bowser’s body in Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story (read more here). Check out the evolution of Mario!

Triceratopses is a LIE

“Classifying dinosaurs is difficult under the best circumstances. With the ceratopsids, circumstances are not ideal. Incomplete specimens, damaged bones and small sample sizes plague researchers. For example, it would be a lot easier to assign an age to Torosaurus skulls if we had some complete skeletons to go with them. Worse, many specimens have been reconstructed incorrectly, making their morphology appear misleading,” Ed Grabianowski in a recent io9 article on Triceratopses

Extrapolate that and you have a theory that has been floating around for awhile: dinosaurs never existed. The Triceratops is the first domino to fall.

Enjoying your blog. Do you know of any troll/goblin/elf-themed figure skating routines? I always thought Nobunari Oda's "Zatoichi" program had a goblinesque quality, but I know it's not a direct reference. Hope you can help.

Dear Sotrufflefries,

Glad you like the blog! I know we have a lot of readers who are also figure-skating fans, so I thought I’d post this publicly.

Elves: Some call Kim Yu-Na an elf on skates. You might get some inspiration from her gold-medal-winning 2010 Winter Olympics performance (or subscribe to her YouTube Channel).

Goblins: Was Mario a goblin? Maybe he just fought them. Either way, you might check out Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov’s Mario-inspired figure-skating routine for some ideas.

Trolls: I had a hard time finding any troll-themed routines, BUT did you know that figure-skating & internet trolls have a long history? Are you familiar with the rec.sport.skating.ice.figure (rssif) forum? They have a real troll problem

Here’s a sampling of troll drama in the rssif:

I caught a post about this on RSSIF, someone quoting Morry Stillwell. Can someone confirm this? I’m missing a lot of posts on RSSIF of late, and I smell a troll. I’m praying it’s troll. It’s a troll, right?

Ok, then allow me a clarification also. All the top males were closer to Paul Binnebose’s age than Johnnie Stiegler’s. Your descent into trolldom has made this discussion pointless, David. I’ll no longer respond to your defensive attacks on others.

Lies spread by Charles “Chuckie” Newman, a notorious skating troll:
(re: Kristi Yamaguchi): She was born into very powerful and very rich family, the Yamaguchis of Acapulco. She could run for office someday, but not until 2002, for the senate, or 2006 for the House. You are required to be a citizen for a certain number of years, and she does not qualify yet. She only became a US Citizen in July, 1992. Her parents are Mexican-born while her grandparents were American born.
